Our Leos were up and
about busy with charity work this school holidays. Leo Clubs all over the world
are encouraged to do a service project a few days before or on that day, or
after this date. The objectives of having this service project is to put into
practice the 3R concept. At the same time, it is to expose Leos and Lions to
the existence and functions of the Malaysian Red Crescent’s (Miri Chapter) 3R
Centre.
The recent one was the
donation to the ‘3R Centre’ of Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC), Miri Chapter. It
was a joint project of Leo Clubs of Riam Road Secondary School and Kolej Tun
Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang.
This was a special
event to commemorate the ‘International Leo Service Day’ which officially falls
on December 5. The donated items are
clothes, TV sets, printers, computer monitors, story books, shoes, toys, and
many more. The charity work was made possible with the strong support of the
Lions Club of Miri Mandarin, Lions Club of Miri Host, and the Leo Clubs of SMK
Chung Hua Miri, SMK Baru Miri and SMK St Joseph Miri.
